The people of Heron are just like everyone else. In Heron there does exist an authentic spirit of goodwill, respect, care in times of need, and a general neighborliness. In Heron each person counts as an individual and also as a community member.
People still wave at each other as they are walking or passing in vehicles. The Heron Store is the only public place for morning coffee, lunch, ice cream and informal socializing, as most people prefer.
In Heron, gates are used to keep stock in or out, not to separate one part of the community from another. There is not a sense of exclusivity or threat from others. People are accepted for who they are, and we value that as a genuine virtue.
